Description
Show Description: "Shakespeare in Hollywood" by Ken Ludwig deals with classic Hollywood figures clashing with classic Shakespearean characters, often with very funny results. The play takes place in 1930's Hollywood. Max Reinhardt is in the midst of directing the Warner Brothers' movie version of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Reinhardt has stars Dick Powell, James Cagney, Mickey Rooney, and Joe E. Brown in his cast. It should be a can't miss project! But then the "real" Oberon and Puck from Shakespeare's play are magically transported onto the set and are mistaken for the actors portraying them. Can supernatural beings from the Magic Wood near Athens survive in the glitzy lifestyle of 20th Century Hollywood?

GreenMan Theatre Troupe is offering patrons the opportunity to give their moms the red carpet treatment this Mother's Day. Moms get free admission when accompanied by another paying customer for the performance of "Shakespeare in Hollywood" on Sunday May 8 at 2 PM. GreenMan will also provide the moms in attendance with a complimentary flower, while supplies last, when they arrive for that performance.
